Coats for Kids – Help a Child. Donate a Coat.

Getting ready to swap out the warm-weather clothes in your closets for fall and winter attire? Do you have kids who have outgrown their jackets from last year? You can help The Salvation Army reach children in need who don’t have winter coats and help make sure they stay cozy when the temperatures drop.

The Salvation Army’s annual Coats for Kids program collects and distributes thousands of new or clean, gently-used warm coats to local kids and families in need. Coats are accepted in sizes from infant to adult. This seasonal assistance program exists due to generosity from community individuals, families, churches, businesses, and foundations.

New or Gently-Used Clean Winter Coats can be dropped off between Monday, September 25th and Thursday, October 26th.

Other Ways to Donate
Walmart – Registry For Good – purchase a coat from the Manitowoc Walmart and they’ll ship it directly to that Salvation Army.

Register for Coats for Kids
Families can find more information and sign up for the Coats for Kids program now by contacting their local chapter of the Salvation Army. Coat distribution dates vary by location. One child in each family receives a new winter coat and the other children receive gently used winter coats.

Volunteer for Coats for Kids Set-up and Distribution
There are multiple shifts available to help set up and distribute coats. Please contact the volunteer organizer of your local Salvation Army chapter for more details.
